From the evening of May 21st (Sunday) to lunch on the 24th (Friday), 31 Jesuit and lay educators congregated at the Kingsmead Centre of Ignatian Spirituality and Counseling in Singapore for the first-ever meeting of Chaplains and Campus Ministers of Jesuit schools in Asia Pacific.
Happy Feast Day of St. Francis Xavier! Today we celebrate the memory and contribution of this 16th-century Jesuit missionary, who tirelessly toiled all over Asia to spread the Good News.

Here he writes about his experiences and insights from the JCAP Colloquium on the 4 Cs held at the Sanata Dharma University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from the 21st to 23rd of September 2016.
Educators, both Jesuits and lay, from all over Asia and the Pacific gathered in Jogjakarta, Indonesia from September 21 to 23 for an in-depth discussion of the implementation of the so-called “4 Cs” in our schools: Competence, Conscience, Compassion, and Commitment. Fr. Jose A. Mesa, S.J., the Secretary for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education of the Society of Jesus was the keynote speaker.
This reflection on the recently concluded IGNATIAN STUDENT LEADERSHIP FORUM in Yogyakarta is from Chia Yu Lin, a student from St. Aloysius Technical School, Hsinchu Hsien, Taiwan.
The Ignatian Student Leadership Forum (ISLF) was held from August 15 to 21 in 2016 in Jogjakarta of Indonesia. The forum aims at making young students from Jesuit high schools in the Asian region learn how to be a good leader and know the importance of self-reflection. As I heard about the news that I was chosen to attend this forum, I became a little nervous. For one thing, I was one of only two participants from Taiwan; for another, we needed to take the flight to Indonesia without any teacher to accompany us. I began to think that it might be a dangerous journey. But after thinking for a while, I thought I would just need to be very careful during the trip. This reflection is from SEAN ETHAN CHENG, a student leader from Xavier School. Philippines, who participated in the recent Ignatian Student Leadership Forum (August 15-21, 2016), hosted by the Jesuits of the Indonesian Province and held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
The monsoon rains did stop the student leaders from so many different countries in the Asia-Pacific region to converge in unfamiliar Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Our delegation left Manila on a very stormy Sunday. After two flights and more than eight hours of travel, we were welcomed warmly by our hosts at the airport. The other delegations encountered floods on the way to Jogjakarta, but everything fell in place at the end of the day.
